Here We Go CD Swimmers!!

This is the email we have all been waiting for!  As our season begins there are many details that need to be covered, please be patient and read through this entire email for the details.  As always, I will then be happy to answer any remaining questions.
PARTY!
The team kick-off party is Friday night, December 8th from 6:30 to 9:30 pm at the Conways’ house, 5537 River Road (N. Front St) Harrisburg,17110.
It is the third house after the big colorful Christmas light display (you can’t miss it).  They have a brick mailbox with address on the front. Questions, please call Kathy Conway 717-439-3364.
If you haven’t already done so, please click on the link to sign up to bring an item to share:    https://www.timetosignup.com/conway/sheet/67685/
UNIFORMS!

Borrowed uniforms, purchased uniforms, spirit wear purchases and swim caps will all be handed out on Friday night.  If you will not be at the dinner Friday night, please let us know so that we can bring your items to the invitational for you.
If you are borrowing a uniform, please note that the warm-ups are numbered and in new or like-new condition.  You will be signing them out and are expected to return them in the same condition at the end of the season.  Please do not write your name on the borrowed uniforms.   As you know, our uniform consists of the black swim suit, white shirt, green shorts, green pants and green jacket warm-ups and team caps.  Please wear or bring these uniform pieces to the meet.
Please only wear our team caps, jackets and uniforms at the meet or there could be disqualifications (no club paraphernalia).
DOVER INVITATIONAL!
The Dover Invitational is this Saturday, December 9th, at 9:00 am, at the Dover Intermediate School swimming pool, Dover, PA.
The school address is:  4500 Intermediate Avenue, Dover, PA  17315              NOTE:  This is not the high school, the pool is not located at the high school
Departure time:  Swimmers must be at the high school by the auditorium/gymnasium entrance by 6:15 am, Saturday, the buses will be leaving on time – PLEASE BE PROMPT.
What to Expect:  This will be a long day, the booster club will provide snacks and drinks.  Swimmers may also want to bring spending money because there has been a concession stand at this meet in the past.  Please pack warm clothes, pool acceptable footwear and towels.  You will be seated outside the pool deck where it may be cold.  Don’t bring chairs, if you want to use one, have your parents bring it for you.
EVENTS!
At this point we don’t have the official list for the line-up.  However, you can consider your swimmer’s events on Saturday to be the individual events they requested.  Relays will be announced Saturday morning.  Coach will have a program Saturday morning for lane and heat assignments.  However, if a heat sheet becomes available before Saturday morning, we will send it out.
Parents can follow along with the meet results on Meet Mobile – just go to your apps store and download Meet Mobile: Swim for a nominal fee, or go to https://www.active.com/mobile/meet-mobile-app.
TRANSPORTATION!
Students must take the bus to the meet and home from the meet, with limited exceptions.  The district rule for allowing parents to transport their swimmers home after meets, in lieu of riding the bus, requires parents to obtain permission in advance from the Athletic Director.  To do so, parents must email the Athletic Director, Mr. Hunter – at chunter@cdschool.org.
Additionally, once Mr. Hunter has approved the request, parents must follow up by providing a note with the same request to Coach Starsinic on the day of the meet.  If the swimmer is on her “prior approved” list, they may leave with their parents, only – no carpooling.  All regular season meets require all swimmers to stay until the end of the meet.
This invitational is the only meet where swimmers may leave after their events – with coach’s permission and the prior approval of the AD.  Parents may take swimmers home after either emailing Mr. Hunter in advance or seeing Mr. Hunter at the meet, since he will be there on Saturday.
Swimmers should not leave the meet without checking in with the coach regarding the possibility of swimming additional events. If you have additional questions about transportation, please see Mr. Hunter.  Finally, there will be no early departure bus this year as in past years.
PARENTS!
Parents are free to attend the invitational, if they wish, but again, remember that this is a very long meet.  There may be an admissions charge.  The meet begins at 9 am and will most likely end around 4 pm.  This is much different than our regular dual meets that last approximately 2 hours. It is also very crowded with limited, and usually packed, spectator seating.  The regular order of events is listed at the bottom of this email.

Finally, GO RAMS!  We know you’ll do a great job on Saturday – just keep swimming, FAST!

Thank you!
